Twin Falls area at Yankee Boy Basin...Some of my journal from the trip that day... We left the cabin at 11:15 A.M. (September 24, 2008) with a beginning mileage on Ruby of 22,078 miles.
We headed up to Yankee Boy Basin. Another totally clear day with some of the bluest sky I have ever seen. En route we took a ton of pictures in the narrow canyon as the sun came through the golden aspen leaves.

At Twin Falls I was so intent on looking at the falls that I was not paying attention to the road ahead. As we came over a pile of dirt (that was piled up to divert the water where you can’t see the road ahead)...the front left side of Ruby suddenly made a big drop. I looked out the window and saw that half of the road had been washed away. If I had gone much further we would have probably rolled!! At any rate PTL...as I just put Ruby in reverse and backed out...and drove around it….I did pay more attention after that :0)

Happy Thanksgiving
from us to you... :0)

P.S. Thanksgiving is NOT about the turkey...it’s about being thankful for all the many ways in which God has blessed us... :0)

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
NIV

1 Timothy 2:1-7

2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in its proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle-I am telling the truth, I am not lying-and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.
