Here are a few of the remains of what is called Tomboy Ruins. It was bigger than most towns but never officially incorporated. Most of it was intentionally burnt to the ground many years ago.

In this series of photos we are headed over Imogene Pass from Telluride to Ouray, Colorado. Imogene is a ‘5’ rated 4WD (four wheel drive) pass. This photo was taken this past summer. We have just begun our assent and made a switchback so you can see where we were on the other side. One of the more dangerous things about Imogene Pass is passing vehicles headed in the other direction as the road is VERY narrow in most spots. A family was killed a few years ago when they tried to pass another vehicle (traveling the other direction)…they got too close to the edge and the road gave way….
