We have now arrived at the ghost town of Apex, Colorado which sits at an elevation of about 9,100 feet. Only a few buildings remain today. When we lived close to this area in the mid 60’s there were a lot of buildings here that are now gone.

Finally.... we are heading into the foothills (this was shot from Lookout Mountain..above Golden, Colorado). About one third of the way up, in the center is highway 6 that heads up to Central City and the ghost towns on beyond. In the far distance you can see the Continental Divide.

Okay…We are finished with our Arizon and Utah canyon run and we’re now ready to head back to Colorado. The photos for the next several weeks were taken over a nine day trip to Colorado that included Memorial Day weekend this year. We were there for a wedding and then did some camping. Here is a view of western Kansas en route to our destination. In case you haven’t noticed there is not much out there except for some beautiful clouds!!! The dark colored strip at the bottom...that IS the landscape! But PTL that's where a LOT of our wheat comes from....
