Road into the ghost town of Ironton, Colorado - Friday, September 26, 2008 - We left the cabin at 9:10 A.M. with a starting mileage as 22,199 on Ruby. First we went back to the Ironton town site to take some pictures and to see how much the leaves had changed. Actually they were magnificent. It’s amazing what a few days can do!

One of the Alta Lakes... We had lunch at Alta Lakes and again fed the camp robbers (they came down and got food off the picnic table with us sitting there). Next we drove up to the second Alta Lake and by then it was raining some.

Okay...we’re going to step back into the fall of 2008 and pick back upon our trip to the Ouray, Telluride, Durango, and Silverton, Colorado... We are now at the summit of Ophir pass en route to Telluride.

From my journal......We left the cabin 10:30 A.M. with a starting mileage on Ruby of 22,102 miles.

We headed up 550 and stopped at the top of Red Mountain Pass and took pictures of reflections in the lake near the old mine at Red Mtn. Town.

On our front porch the morning of 1/7/2010.....actually we had 4 or 5 inches of new snow overnight. It’s really cold and windy out there...as I’m typing this it is 4 degrees...The new snow didn’t stay long in one place unless it was a drift. The umbrella table on our deck has 12 inches of snow on it. I’m not sure when we will be able to take down the Christmas lights and decorations...BRRRRRRR..
