Another view from the end of the 4WD road on Mt. Antero. Looking towards the north you cannot tell we are in the path of a major lightning storm. Mt. Antero is said to be one of the best places in the United States for mineral and gem collecting. Some of the best specimens of aquamarine ever found came from the mineral fields at the top of this mountain. Gem quality smoky quartz and blue beryl can make this trip a rock hounding adventure of a lifetime!
